So the time has come for me to finally tell you...I've got a job!
Unfortunately it's not inside this beautiful little town, but fortunately...but it is supposedly in one of the most magical and breathtaking places in the entire world. I can't tell you too much about it, because even for me it's mostly a suprise.
Today is April 3rd, which is my last day in Banff. The job I have found (it sort of found me), is 200kms north of Banff on the Icefields. I will be working as a driver / guide for a Glacier Adventure company. (Click here to do your own research and see what I'll be doing)
I haven't done a great deal of research into the job, nor the place where I will be living (staff accommodation) yet because I want it to be a suprise!
But I thought I'd give you a brief sum up of the past few days in Banff, because it has been amazing!
Saturday - I went for a hike (don't worry, not alone) through an amazing place called Sundance Canyon. Which including walking to & from the Canyon, was 16km round trip, most of which was through snow and ice. We had to hire cleats (hiking spikes) for our shoes so be able to scale the icy path. Basically, the aim was to see the frozen waterfalls at the end of the path...but there was just too much snowfall lately and the waterfalls were covered.
The hike was absolutely incredible though, the landscape was so picturesque. Snow everywhere and mountains as far as the eye could see. It was an such a beautiful path to walk along, and the views along the way were like no other.
The next day was just as spectacular, Ice Skating on Lake Louise. Such an amazing experience, and it was stunning to see such a famous site while it was covered in ice and snow. It will be amazing to see it during the summer time when it is beautiful turquoise water, with lush pine forests all around. I haven't been ice skating in a looooong time, and I was suprised how quickly it came back to me! It was such an amazing experience and one I'll never forget!
Here is a typical tourist pic with my ice skates on jumping, just to prove I was there!
Lake Louise....I'll be back, see you in summer.
